During a December trip to Yosemite, I was looking for a beautiful hike with minimal other hikers and opted for the Snow Creek Falls Trail.
Starting from Ahwahnee, I walked the loop trail over to Mirror Lake just after sunrise. (The Lake was more of a puddle). As promised, the start of Snow Creek was all switchbacks and the views got better at every turn. Stopped a few times to snack and take in the rocks. Once up to the top, the trail turned snowy as it lead into a forest. Not long after, I reached the Creek foot bridge. There had been ample warnings about bears, and the area nearby the trail was actually closed because of bear activity so I didn’t linger. Headed back down and enjoyed those valley views once again.
Thinking about doing this hike in the springtime to see what it’s like after snowmelt.
